What has Happened to the Abortion Issue?
Posted by Pastor Kurt | Filed under Christianity In Crisis, Randomness, The Moral Decline

We have approxamately four days until the presidential election and it seems that a majority of Americans (Including Christian Americans) are voting for whats best for their pocketbook. The great sin of abortion has been for the most part - swept under the rug.
I was asked by a church member - who will I vote for? And unfortunatley for me the choice for president comes down to only one issue - Is the candidate Pro-Life or Pro-Choice? You see, I cant get into other issues that face America and how each candidate will deal with those issues, I have to vote for the unborn child.
So if your reading this and you are still on the fence about your choice for president, please prayerfully consider the babies who will never get a chance to vote.

Martin Luther Quotes…

Every man must do two things alone; he must do his own believing and his own dying.
Let the wife make the husband glad to come home, and let him make her sorry to see him leave.
To be a Christian without prayer is no more possible than to be alive without breathing.
Peace if possible, but truth at any rate.
In our sad condition our only consolation is the expectancy of another life. Here below all is incomprehensible.
Martin Luther - 1483-1546. German priest and scholar whose questioning of certain church practices led to the Protestant Reformation.

Is their anything more important than prayer and Bible study?
Posted by Pastor Kurt | Filed under My Faith, Randomness

This last Wednesday during our prayer and Bible study it dawned on me that this is the most important duty of a Christian. People get so caught up in doing good deeds that they neglect the most important thing. Some people will do good deeds to cover up their poor or non-existent relationship with God. All the while they feel good for doing good, but neglected the Lord. Jesus talked about this in Matthew 7
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Matthew 7:21-23
The bottom line is prayer is talking to God and Bible study is God talking to the Christian, and if there is no communication, there is no relationship! All all the good deeds in the world cant make up for that!
